Hi, my name is Rhys Lovell and I am a professional bassist living and working on the south coast. I play electric and double bass and have been doing so professionally for many years. I have experience playing in a wide range of styles and performance situations and have received lessons from the likes of:

Graeme May (formerly of Ozric Tentacles)

I also have a B.A. (Hons) in Professional Musicianship (with a 1st in performance) from the Brighton Institute of Modern Music

I am currently busy performing in my functions band, Staxx, playing a mixture of funk, rock, soul reggae and pop. I have recently finished a cabaret residency with New Yorks 'Le Scandel' show. I also have a weekly residency at the Carling Academy (Islington) with Karaoke Rock Star, play with the gypsy jazz ensemble Mieszanka, six piece jazz funk band Blue Gibon, a jazz quartet fronted by Lisa Wadham and play in the 'House band' at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. I also keep busy playing various one-off gigs and studio sessions.
