Penny Mac - Vocals & Flute - Violin & Kbds

A graduate of the Leeds College of Music (jazz & contemporary music), I've worked in London for most of my professional career, although I've gigged all over the world. Now living back in my home town of Altrincham, Cheshire.

I've been the lead vocalist with function bands in top London venues including
The Savoy, The Dorchester, Browns Hotel, Claridges, The Grosvenor, Kensington Roof Top Gardens & sung in some unusual venues like the Natural History museum (singing ??? I Will Always Love You??? to the Tyrannosaurus Rex!) Madame Tussards, Blackpool Tower Ballroom, London Zoo, Brocket Hall, Woburn Abbey, Science Museum & Imperial War Museum.

Also been a guest vocalist with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and was lead vocalist with the String of Pearls Orchestra for several years. I won first prize (!) at the International Jazz Day Solo Singers Competition 1996 which was broadcast on Jazz 102.2 FM

Overseas I've worked in international 5* hotels in the Middle East, Morocco, Oman, Japan & The Maldives and on the cruise liners; P&O Oriana which led to being invited to do the maiden voyages on P&O Aurora (lots of free champers when it went into dry dock!!!!)

As a tutor I've got qualified teacher status and a PGCE and have taught Key Stage 3 & 4 in main stream schools. Loads of experience as a peri and in specialist music schools as a voice coach. I now teach from home & as vocal support in studios in the Manchester/ Cheshire area.

Do a bit of writing - only instrumentals ironically - usually on the fiddle - got a couple of CD's of own Irish comps in the shops.
