Up 'til now, Blue Vinny have been an acoustic duo, consisting of the frontman, Mike - a professional singer, with 8 years of gig & studio experience, based in Colchester... and the guitarist, Joe - who has been playing for around 12 years and has plenty of gig & studio experience. Now we are looking to expand into a full band - we have a drummer in place, so we're looking for a bass player and either a lead guitarist, or a key player (ideally, one who can dabble on a bit of guitar too???). Our influences include: Barenaked Ladies, Crowded House, Ben Folds, Dave Matthews Band, Sting, The Feeling, right through to classic artists like The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Ray Charles and The Rolling Stones.

We've been writing together for about 5 years now, but are also happy to take on board any ideas or full songs that the other band members come up with. As you can probably tell from our list of influences, we want a band who are musically tight, with good vocal harmonies and can really work a crowd. But we also want to have a band who can have a laugh & get on with eachother. We're both pretty chilled out, but at the same time, when it comes to turning up on time for rehearsals etc, we like to act professionally & get the job done.
