Hi, I'm Matt, I'm a pretty good guitarist. I can play rock, metal, blues, pop, jazz, big-band. I tend to sway more to the rock/metal genre.

I like most styles of music but my main favourites are Queen, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Iona, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Nightwish, AC:DC, Rush, Queensryche, Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, U2, The MIssion, Sisters of Mercy, Transatlantic.

My main guitar playing influences are Joe Satriani, Brian May, Marty Friedman, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Metallica, John Petrucci.

I have a great guitar rig: Ibanez JS1000, Marshall JMP1 pre-amp, Boss GT-Pro FX, Mesa 20/20 power amp, Mesa Rectifier 4 x 12 cab.

I can play guitar pretty well (can shred if necessary). I haven't been in a band in a while and would like to get back into it and play live with other good musicians. I can write and produce too. I teach BTEC Music Technology so have a comprehensive view of the record process.

I would like to play in a band that is creative (not just playing the usual rock/pop covers you hear down the pub every saturday), produces interesting and original material (and the odd decent cover). I am a serious musician (as in seeing practice as a good thing), but would initially see this as a hobby with a bit of extra money on the side, with a view to getting more serious if things work out well.

I'm really easy to get on with, like a good laugh, no ego but would like to work with people who put some effort in and ideally have similar musical goals.
