I play keyboards (Triton studio, Nord G2, EMU P-2000 purpose designed midi set up) & drums (Roland TD 20 kit) percussion (Roland Handsonic) to a good standard. I'm an experimenter yet not avantgarde, melody, harrmony, rhythm are integal to my work yet I'm not conventional. I like to add 5th and 7ths to chords & progressions, add tenths in the bass. I'm a chromatic player using all the notes. Unison, counterpoint rhythms more hard rock than world music yet combining jazz elements without getting hung up on the theory and image.

My thing is improvising with sound, dynamics, excitement, harmony, multilayering to achieve 'atmosphere' that is more akin to film music, soundscapes, perhaps yet my roots are diverse (progressive, rock, jazz, folk, dance, ambient ) Anything with emotion and quality. Punk, rock is fine if industrious progressive & vibrant!

More art performance with words, looping, delay effects, hypnotic drums, layers keys, guitar psychedic soloing than covers at pubs and clubs.

My creative journey has parallels to artists in the visual world (paint, multi-media). The next 18 months will see moves to integrate backdrop projection into improvised performance.

My ambition for live performance is to bring together good musicians who love to experiment ! and stage perhaps twice yearly unique and special performance events where the standard of musicianship particularly regarding good timing and phrasing! transgress the restrictions of hours (groan!) of rehearsal to learn to play a sequence of fixed notes and tunes. I imagine each show different to the one before yet underpinned by pre worked out compositional structure.

It's a big ask!
