I am experienced electric violinist, having been playing folk punk and folk rock for the past 13 years (violin playing - 27 years), with a little bit of session work in between. 34 years old.

I like to play in most styles, apart from Jazz and Classical and although I\'m classically trained I prefer using my electric instruments with my 'Rack of Doom' (tm) effects rack. I love to improvise, especially rock improvisation... with a hint of folk.

I can also perform at weddings, either solo acoustic or electric with my PA and backing tracks. I have reliable transport and am willing to travel for the right project.

Have also been working in the video games industry for the past 15 years as a sound designer/composer (won a BAFTA for best sound with Theme Park World in 2000), and am trying to move into tv/film and advertising now.

As a teacher, I prefer to teach people who are not interested in a classical approach to the violin. Whilst I firmly believe that traditional classical technique gives a good grounding to play in any style I approach this a little differently and try to make lessons and private practise as entertaining as possible, as only the madfiddler can
