I no longer have a myspace, might sign up again as Musician if the music kicks off. Also on Facebook!I live in Gloucester, but I can travel (Cheltenham, Stroud and Bristol are all do-able). I'm currently 26. I'm male. Average height. Not much of a poser or style icon.

I can even sing a bit when drunk or brave. I'm self-taught, mainly by ear and I like to play random noise mixed with looping melodies topped by a gentle frosting of riffs.

I'm happy to join a band but I would also be quite like to start one - I like the idea that each musician contributes one equal slice of melody - even the drummer should play nice off-kilter beats that use the whole kit (check out Josh Baruth on Appleseed Cast recordings), and the bass shouldn't just play the route notes of the song chords, but should be free to dance around the guitar melody, ascending, descending and rotating to its heart's content. My favourite songwriting process is to jam until a song starts to emerge, then work on it.

I play music in the style of Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, The Appleseed Cast and (melodically) Hopesfall, using lots of delay pedals. I also am happy to play rawky and/or bluesy and/or shouty stuff, and I certainly enjoy At The Drive-In, Glassjaw, Refused, Kings of Leon, PJ Harvey and such. I respect the perfect pop-craftsmanship of Jimmy Eat World and Weezer but I also love the crushing beauty of Poison the Well.

I'd even be happy to play a crazy mix of these things. I would say that I DETEST The Feeling, Robbie Williams and the Ting Tings, among many others, including the poser/self-important indie that's beloved by NME, although I'm sure I can be contradicted by looking at my CD collection. And anyone who calls Panic At The Disco 'emo' should be shot - think of bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral and The Appleseed Cast, before critics used the term more than the letter 'a'.
