I'm a guitarist/vocalist/songwriter of fifteen years experience (hundreds of gigs, dozens of recording studios) looking to get good bands together. Original material would be my primary interest as I've written a stack of it in different genres, but paid function bands are ideal as well. I've done plenty of time in both so I know what I'm doing, and I'm a very fast by-ear learner, having the benefit of perfect pitch. When it comes to writing or copying vocal melodies and harmonies lets just say all those years listening to Beatles and Beach Boys records have stood me in good stead!

Main influences: early Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, early Manic Street Preachers, Pixies, Pantera, Free, Motorhead, Blur, early U2 (up to and including Joshua Tree) - and that's just for starters on the rock side before mentioning blues and jazz. I love performers with wide dynamics and diverse influences who aren't afraid of anthemic songwriting and a kickass guitar solo. Inventive while still retaining good pop hooks that an audience can sing along to. Fun to play and fun to listen to is a motto I agree with. Not just barre chords and dull lyrics like the rubbish guitar pop on British radio right now, which I want no part of!

I put myself down as a pro because I'm competant and committed, and seeking others of similar mind set. I'm not necessarily the best, but music is a lifelong passion that I've spent time getting good at and I don't do things by halves. I don't have a big ego or 'i wanna be famous' attitude and expect the same with those I work with. Music should be about fun, first and foremost, and it's important to get on with your band and share in the musical direction, especially. Share the good times and the bad times over a pint or five. If you've a competant player looking for other competant players to start a new project or complete an existing line-up and you don't mess around then I'm the man to speak to.
