Cohen's line pops into my head: 'We're ugly but we have the music.' lol.

Anyway - I like; although, the words 'geek' and 'freak' seem a little too harsh for my taste in this setting - they tend to be spikes in the flow; uncharm the music with an over-emphasised sense of unsympathetic derision, that is: the point may have already been made without them (Ignore me if I'm being daft ). In saying this, I realise where you're coming from with this song and everything - so, from another point of view such expressions are relevant; it's not a very compassionate world.

Nice to hear Deryn getting a bit fiery on that cello, too.

Yes - rather than the nature of humanity as a whole (with each of us participating and experiencing it), I was sort of thinking about sections of folks and humanity (as distinct from others) as being the 'Circus Show' here. My mistake - I think? (mi head's gone, at present ).

Thanks Frase - especially for paying attention to the lyrics, which are very much the backbone of the song. I guess there are many possible interpretations. From our perspective, they are kinda self-referential, and also a comment on the possibility that all of humanity - especially those who laugh and point at the "sideshow" are in fact freaks and/or geeks in one way or another. We all have our skeletons in the closet and the desire to cover up certain things about ourselves. The less we cover those things up, the more we are perceived as being peculiar outsiders by those who would have us believe that they are "normal" or "better"

Or something like that! Lol!

I seeeee - I'm with ya now. It might be worth putting up the lyrics with your songs? I couldn't make make out that bit: 'all the freaks/geeks taking the .. ????????'. No biggy, though.

Anyhow, I found this one growing on me more and more, and have been singing 'alllll the isolaaated' quite often whilst potterin' haha. I like that bit in the song at 3.06 particularly, where it gets quieter and 'allll the isolated' comes in again.

This is awesome.

Every song should reference a bearded lady too!

My Favourite SP track so far.
