Simple piece - a demo for brass and snare drumsh. The snare may sound a little fixed, but a real player could improvise how they wished, kinda thing.

Anyway, it's on mi Facebook musician's page - at the bottom of the list, I think (altough they sometimes, mysteriously alter positions) - at: http://www.new.facebook.com/pages/Fraser-Stansfield/19807134690

Have a see what you think, if ya want; if you like brass and snare - s'gotta be played dead loud, too.

Cheers,

F.

Very nice Fraze, very atmospheric. Like how it slips between being quite moody and ominous to joyous and uplifting (To my ears at least!)

Snare sounds fine. Only thing I did notice was a bit of low end hum in the background but hardly noticable.

Good un!

Hold that! There's no low end hum at all. I'm monitoring the sound output from my Pc through my guitar fx unit which my guitars also plugged into. Guess where the hums coming from!!! Wot a plonker! It's Friday... I'm tired!

By the way, Mike - you're right with your feelings on this. The first section is meant to be a little funeral-esque in a similar style to Purcell's Queen Mary funeral music (something has died); and then uplifting (rebirth) at the end - like new grass after a fire; the release from a destructive desire; a moving on; an 'enlightenment' over a certain issue etc etc - the mechanism of all those carryings on and goings-on. All in a simple and brief manner.

You're a very talented composer Fraser. Just a quick listen is enough to realise that. I have to be in the right mood for classical music but what you've done with Garritan is outstanding.

That's a very kind thing to say, Stevey - thanks for that.

You too, Mark - thanks very much; and I think you have a point about the last bar: it could definitely be brought in quietly, and the notes extended throughout a crescendo or something - yeah.

Ok...I think I went a bit too "loud" following your recommendations there Frase...the dogs are looking at me in a non-humoured fashion now!

Great stuff though!
