i used to deliver pizza around there when i was about 18 , pretty tough place , in parts , especially the blenheim close area .
i guess it hasnt changes much .
used to drink in the bluebell , barley mow and friars court(if we wanted to get squashed) and go to a club called legends , where inspiral carpets , stone roses and such used to play at.
theres a big pink floyd following in penketh , if you can get gigs there .
i dont know whether the lord rodney(where the big tesco is) pub still has live music , but they used to hold gigs twice a week .
my parents still live there so i used to go up to visit occasionally .
waste of space

Used to be quite a few bands play at the Barley but no idea now, started to see the same old faces so stopped going! Not sure about the Rodney, only ever went in there a couple of times and that was many years ago.
Rarely go out in Warrington these days, tends to be Liverpool when i've got the cash. To many nutters in Warrington want to beat you into next year 'cos you looked at them the 'wrong way'. Sky News did a report from Warrington town centre on a Saturday night a few months back highlighting antisocial behaviour. Cringeworthy to watch! Sure most towns have their problems but Warrington does seem to have more than it's fair share!

There's a couple of huge housing estates in the north that had a lot of empty houses and they filled them up with the evictees. Had a huge heroin problem too. They got rid of a lot of them and did the houses up not long after i moved there but things have slipped again considerably. Quite nice round where I live thankfully.
Think some people consider warrington to be a bit of an ugly blot on Cheshires' landscape. Doesn't hekp being sandwidged between Liverpool and Manchester.... that brings a lot of problems - and idiots (great for commuting and nighs out though) and guarantees that the music scene is dire. No big band comes to Warrington anymore when you've got the M.E.N and the Echo Arena 15 miles to the East and West! Our greatest export is Chris Evans, Kerry Katona and her dodgy husband which says it all really! Oh - and that dancing kid.... what's his name?
The Gary Newlove murder last year didn't help Warrington's reputation but I do wonder if I moved to another medium sized industrial town if things would be similar, i'm damned sure it would be.... Went back to Blackburn for a football match recently. Warrington does look and smell a bit more plesent. Anyhow, the grass is always greener and all that!
Have to say i'd love to move to Liverpool one day. Love that city!
That Bass player? Is he still in warrington and does he need a guitar player? Damned... Thought not!
