| | Posted: Fri 04 Jul 2008 15:38 | | Hey guys,
Seeing as there seems to be a fair amount of ‘on-the-up’ musicians in this community, I thought this website may be of use to you all.
I can understand some of you may think of this as spam, but please, give it a chance first.
We are in the process of launching our new music community. We call it MUZU TV.
This site offers signed and unsigned acts/bands a platform to engage more closely with their fans by creating their own TV channel featuring playlists of music videos, interviews, documentaries, live footage etc - and the fans can also add their own video content directly to the artist's channel. The channel's TV player is embeddable and can be added to the artist's official website, social network profiles, blogs etc. Importantly, MUZU TV is ad funded and we share revenue with all music makers, as well as making sure any copyright is protected. This is a music TV network with a sense of fairness. We believe everyone deserves a slice of the pie.
We'd love you to come in and have a look around - and if you like what you see – why not give us a try?
Thanks for your time.
We the people @ www.muzu.tv

Hey there rab, Mike, joe and the rest of you.
There’s no gimmicks here, MUZU TV is a genuine venture to give musicians
a platform to broadcast themselves and for fans to engage with the musicians
they love.
MUZU TV splits all ad-funded revenue with all musicians (signed and unsigned) and protects artists right with agreements in place with major collection agencies.
The site is just out of closed BETA (14th July) and we’d love you to have a dip in and let us know what you think.
We welcome all opinion, questions and feedback, so ask away!

Your gonna have do alot better than that. THis looks like youtube with a few bells on. What is the benefit to any unsigned muso? and how will this raise their profile any more than other sites that claim to do what you do? the internet is full of this and i dont see anything new here but a revenue generator for you, badged as a tool for unknown artists to connect with their audience. Seen it before and wore the t-shirt.

I can understand your cynicism. Every new website touts itself as the next best thing. And yes, unsigned bands have tended to get drowned in MySpace/Youtube etc. MUZU TV works to a fair editorial policy, with music editors choosing content to feature on the front page irrespective of stature or status.
Currently on the front page are: Delorentos, Channel One and Tobias Froberg- all unsigned. The key is to have good content on your channel, and to let them know.
MUZU TV is based in Dublin and they have a studio where bands can come and film sessions or interviews at no cost. Recently, Robotnik, also unsigned, got the video he'd filmed in the studio playlisted on MTV.
MUZU is also developing a recommendation widget, which will lead music fans on to acts they may like, based on their music tastes. Again, this will feature bands regardless of size or record label status.
We’re not claiming that this is the fast track to success, but we believe that MUZU TV has the potential to be a powerful platform for musicians, signed and unsigned.
What, if anything do you think would improve the service?

I would say to improve the service you should have a studio based in England offering the same free service as in Dublin. I would seriously consider doing an inteview or whatever to promote. Even if there was a low priced fee i would still maybe consider using the service.
good luck
