H everyone, I had using some software earlier that were good at transferring my files from pc to Ipod but now I need the opposite of that….I am looking to get the play lists and the other audio formats from my Ipod to my pc and need software for this.

Do you have any suggestions for this?????

Make sure your ipod is in disk mode (there is a checkbox in itunes for this), and then the drive will appear in explorer the same as any other drive.
There are some hidden directories in the directory X:\iPod_Control\Music which contain all the files.
Just copy all the files you want.
They won't have the correct filename as Itunes renames them, but all the tags and information are in the file so you can use media player to find out what they are.

you can set up itunes to not format your ipod upon connection to a pc. however holdiing the centre and i believe play for around 20 seconds will allow it to enter disc mode as metioned above allowing you to explore the disc contents. However if you have itunes installed on the pc this can sometimes encourage it to 'restore' the device and prompt software installation so be aware of it lol.

HI I had the same problem when my PC went down had the songs on my ipodbut had to get them back onto Itunes. I found a free prog called idump (build 27) just google it. This sorted it in a few easy steps and seems not to cause any probs
