I'm the lead guitarist in a progressive/melodic death metal band called sarafron.

I've been told too look at bands such as cradle of filth.

Anyone else know any other bands for me too check out?

What's your favourite metal band or any genre of metal?
and support the band we need all the support we can get were just short of vocalists (1 male for the scream/heavy voice and a female for more softer parts, a keyboardist and rhythm gutiarist bareing in mind we've only been going for about 1 month now so it's had a pretty slow start so if your intrested contact me asap.)

Should have songs coming up soon once we've got all the musicians together.

Thanks very much, Mr.nick and sarafron

you may find an influence in nightwish, heavy guit w/ female voc often soft and melodic.
also, coheed and cambria's guit playing may help, they have hard guit verses with almost commercial sounding guit chorus' .....
not suggestin u want to sound commercial but it may help......

I'm into progressive technical metal, such as protest the hero, Sikth, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mesuggah etc.

Check out any of those bands for some sweet tunes! I just wish i could find a band that wants to play that kind of stuff in brighton
