Hi,

I hate 'coming soon' pages, or notifications to say 'we will be doing this shortly' etc, but with this it's necessary to mention.

The My Music section (now Gold member only) has been a kind of trial- we are seeing how it goes down. The flash player has been popular, although it hasn't worked for everyone and it has meant the upgrade has killed the Share Your Music functionality. But we are going to improve it now that we know it's popular.

We plan to integrate the media player 'somehow' into the Share Your Music forum, and improve the whole process. We will also address any bugs that people have found with the player (including the plays count).

If you have any suggestions drop them in here. If you want My Music (unlimited MP3s and Videos) - upgrade to Gold membership here.

Hi all,

Ok i've just rolled out the new Media centre across to the other parts of the site, including:

- Profile page (got rid of old MP3s now they are redundant)
- Play count in My Music*
- Play count sum in Users home page
- Share Your Music forum (viewing topics)

* I've been able to keep the stats from the old MP3 system and move them across to the new system (for users who have not deleted and reuploaded their new tracks). The play count on this new system is more accurate than before.

* The stats are based on plays now from all across the site, forums and user profile pages.

Enjoy.

Just kidding

Why has my latest mp3 upload been encoding for the past 18 hours? I tried uploading it last night and noticed more than 1 hour later that it was still encoding. I So I deleted it and re-uploaded. It's till encoding. The track is aprox. 4 MB. There is supposed to be no limit to the number of tracks we can upload - last time I checked anyway!

OK, so no answer for 3 days... deleted the track; also deleted 2 other tracks thinking maybe I needed to free up some space. Tried uploading a new track but the same thing happens - it gets stuck on "encoding" and can't be played. Am I the only one having this problem?

Hi,

Deryn, what type of music file is it? Can you give me specifics?

I will PM you about getting the file. There is no limit to the number of MP3s.

Pete, there is no reason why a track should just disappear, unless it was accidently deleted by yourself.

No mate....I never deleted any tracks

What happened was, You did an Update on the site and introduced the media players

when you'd finished updating, I was a tune short and about 300 play counts down

why would i delete a track that i put up recently? no need.

Also I noticed Noodle was up in the top 3 of the most played music....all of a sudden he dissappeared off the board

doesnt make sense dude

Can u explain then?

Pete

Hi Pete,

I can't find the track on the system, not sure what happened to it. All you need to do is reupload it, and I will manually set a play count of whatever it was last at if you let me know when its up. PM me.

Cheers
