Hi all,
Ok so we've just rolled up a new update, and as usual there may be some teething issues this weekend, so I'll no doubt be around most of the weekend fixing anything that comes up.
We will be sending out an email on Monday telling everyone just what has changed, and explaining the new changes, for now all you need to know is below:
Important changes:
- New postcode searching (big request)
- Improved design and simplified navigation
- Flash music player and video (big request)
- Regional sites, and improved international experience - New US site!
- Events (big request)
- Access membership (see below).
What is this, you are charging me now!?
Yes. We have had lots of requests for features such as the ones in this update (post code searching, events, better international image etc), and we have also had complaints about the amount of time wasters on the site, that have come about SINCE the change we made last year to a Free model.
- In order to provide you with a more professional site with great features, we need money to pay professional developers to help us and we do believe what you put it in is what you get out, so we are really happy to do this and we know a lot of you agree.
- In order to cut down on the amount of time wasters, we need to make sure that the people who send messages on the site are serious musos who want to network, form bands, create community etc, and not just send out blanket spam emails.
Access membership is just £4.95 which is the price of a London pint or a pack of cigarettes, and you get 90 whole days of unlimited messaging. We are confident that this will improve the quality of the site, and improve the community aspects.
Please note Gold members are unaffected by this update

Hi
I had registerred believing this was a free site. Does this mean after 30days I will loose my advert if I do not pay for it?

Hi,
No, placing ads and events, and posting forum messages is still FREE, you just wont be able to contact members directly after 30 days unless you upgrade.

Although we said we'd send out an email on Monday, this has been delayed due to a few bugs we are still fixing and testing.

eeep, pints are expensive in london! Glad i dont live in london or drink, pint up here is about 1/2 that or even less in the student union!

The average London pint is approx £2.50-£3.00 Stoo. Unless you frequent Wetherspoons and get one for £1.59 as I did tonight... You bin ripped off mate!
