Dark Victory' are a United Kingdom technology based alternative heavy metal music project. It was started in 2009 by Simon Bell (then named Mark Little) to express his musical aspirations and wider social and political views. Former members have included too many collaborations of short duration including members of Alasaria (Nottingham), Rise Again (Leicester), Deceived (Melton Mowbray), Overdrive (Grantham) and Shattered Karma (Nottingham).
Internet and other advertising for members has been on-going from 2009 to present. However, technology has enabled the recording of a four track EP in 2011 ('Dystopia') featuring Paul Trevithic on vocals.
Simon and Paul parted ways in August 2011. Simon was joined by Rick Willock (formally of 'Snake Bite') singing vocals and in January 2012 work was commenced on the recording of music to a further three track EP ('Attack of the Sheepeople') which was released in June 2012. After much consultation with Simon, in February 2012 Pete Hodbod took some time away from his other musical commitments and recorded the drums on a guest appearance basis at his home studio in Sweden using a midi-trigger drum kit. This was subsequently sampled using 'Superior Drummer' by Toontrack. All drums were based on initial musical score by Simon. Tim Hall of 'Overdrive' made a guest appearance on keyboards recording string sounds to two songs. As with 'Dystopia' Simon recorded all the guitar and bass.

The music for ‘Attack of the Sheepeople’ has been written in varying styles to the 'Dystopia' release. There is evidentially more musical exploration with acoustic guitars and music covering a wider sphere of genres including punk rock and acoustic rock, in addition to alternative metal. Purchase of additional musical equipment and upgrading of technology has also allowed the latest release to be undertaken to a much higher production and engineering standard than the 'Dystopia' release. As with the 'Dystopia' release, the music has been recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered utilising Simon's previous experiences working voluntarily in a professional recording studio.

'Dark Victory' continues to advertise for members and seek reviews and exposure of the music in order to attract talented members to ensure a massive wall of live sound. The project continually aims to be a 'live band' and continues to write and record music with this goal firmly in sight. We are now seeking further members to complete a partial line-up for live appearance.

After much delay the band is pleased to announce digital release on numerous internet stores (including iTunes) of the long awaited ‘Dystopia’ being completely remixed and remastered and available from 10th September 2012.
