Sleepercurve

We are pleased to announce the winners of the MusoFinder Band Competition are Sleepercurve. We are looking forward to working with them over the next few weeks as we promote gigs, record their music video, and tell the world about them through the media. We will possibly be recording a MusoFinder exclusive acoustic demo with them so watch out for that.

Sleepercurve will be popping up quite a bit over the next few weeks/months so check out their single and read their story cos we think it's great! Visit www.myspace.com/sleepercurve for gigs and other stuff.

“After my last band imploded due to 'musical differences' towards the end of 2005 my bass player and myself set about trying to find like-minded individuals to start afresh. We tried all the usual avenues at first, asked friends of friends (of friends!), put an ad in the NME, music shops etc etc but kept ending up with psychos or people that didn't know how to tune a guitar, let alone play it. Eventually we came across musofinder, spent about 10 minutes filling in a quick profile...

Within a week or two a pop up message appeared on my email form a guy called Simon Tomes, I checked it out, wasn't too sure about his profile pic but he sounded keen, so we met up for a beer then had a jam soon afterwards, his beats were amazing and we connected over a shared vision of where the band should be going, drummer sorted! After a couple of months our original bass player dropped out as he wanted to pursue a more experimental route. So up the ad went up again and literally within an hour we had an email from an aspiring young bass player named Mark, and the rest as they say is history (or hopefully will be one day!).

Since then we've put together two demos, playing loads of gigs around the capitol, played a session on Pulse Rated, and in the autumn we're doing a DIY tour to promote our first self released single.

The tracks attached are from our first two demos - Vultures and Old Lady of the latest one and Noughts & Crosses from the first. I think they provide a good illustration of our sound, dark and dystopian, but not lacking in groove!”

Sunharbour

“Bristol born home based producer Simon Kusnierek had an idea of fusing jazz, classical and electronica into a modern contemporary style. He moved to London in 2006 not knowing any musicians but excited of the prospect of sourcing from one of the most vibrant cities in the country, London. Early 2007 he was snapped up by independent record label Bang! Records and became their first signing. They and Simon wanted to realise his music live and had a very ambitious idea to form a 16 piece strong musical collective consisting of drums, bass, percussion, keys, sax, trumpet, trombone, cello, viola, 2 violins, double bass, guitar, samplers and decks and vocals. Only knowing but a handful of musicians Simon discovered Musofinder which turned out to be an incredible source for finding musicians. Musofinder not only enabled Simon to source musicians directly but also opened him up to that valuable network of musicians of people who know people. Within just around a month practically the whole 16 piece collective was in place, with musicians that had worked with artists the likes of Jamiroquai, Prince and Gnarles Barkley. Now well on their way the project now called Sunharbour is about to perform their debut live performance on the 8th September at 93 feet east, London. Sunharbour will also be releasing its first EP the same evening which has been mastered at Abbey Road studios.”

Helzuki

“Leah and Matt met when Matt was a member of Australian band Quarter Inch Umbilical. He placed an ad for a vocalist and in stepped Leah. They kept their musical partnership long after that band became history, forming Helzuki with drummer Lex, whom they found through Musofinder. ”

Exit State

“Exit State finally solidified their line-up June 2007 with the inspirational signing of drummer, Chris ”Crazy Texas“ Peat following an advert placed on MusoFinder.com.

Texas Peat had recently split from his band 'The Freespirits' due to other members wishing to travel the world and really wanted to get back into playing and gigging ASAP. Having already shared the stage with Exit State during early 2007, the decision to join the band (replacing awesome temporary stand-in drummer, James Henderson of I.C.O.N) was an easy one as Exit State already knew Tex would fit in incredibly well.

Exit State have quickly established themselves as one of the areas hottest new rock bands with the release of their promo release and a whole host of local, regional and national gigs. The four-piece consisting of Roy (vocals/guitar), Texas Peat (drums), Adam (guitars), and Gray (bass/vocals) take influences such as Metallica, Faith No More, Foo Fighters, Neds Atomic Dustbin, Pantera, Manic Street Preachers & Cave-In to create a sound that combines the melodic qualities of indie with the innovation of rock and the power of metal. The tracks featured on their current promo, 'Go Back To Yesterday', 'Feel', 'Anger Management 101' and 'The Eternal', demonstrate the quality of Exit States songwriting and soaring melodic power. The band is currently further developing their sound with constant gigs, rehearsals and writing”
