Ageing guitarist (49 now - shit, that's nearly 50!) but no ponytail , leather trousers etc. Now like to think of myself as a bit of a vocalist too.

Been playing guitar since I taught myself when I was around 14 but nothing serious for ages. Picked things up again in the past few years and enjoyed it so much, I started getting involved in workshops with other musos. This nearly led to a gigging band but things went wrong - dont they always (what is it with bass players, eh?).

I had been known to sing a bit and even had some lessons to help with that. Some positive reaction to the results! I am now considering dropping the guitar (not literally) to look at singing on its own if that helps me get out there more easily. Vocally, I am not really suited to out and out rock but can cope with most things - especially blues, soul and the like.

2008 saw the opportunity to play in a function band. Not all my sort of music (mainly cos the rest of the band are around 10 years older than me!) We're still gigging once or twice a month.

I been rehearsing as part of a duo - both of us singing and playing electro-acoustic. Were doing a bit of Eagles, Clapton, Neil Young, Kinks, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley - you know the sort of thing! First gig is December 2008.

Recently met up with a lead guitarist/vocalist and drummer who are into rock/blues (think Cream/Hendrix) and they then found a bass player and we are starting to get a set together. Should be out there gigging in early 2009. See www.myspace.com/bluebarkanglia

Always interested in other things tho' so if anyone wants someone who can play and sing, just play and shut up or just sing - get in touch (please).

Main interests are British Blues, Classic Rock and anything with a bit of guitar in it. Never got into folk or country (or should that read folk 'n' country!).

Im NOT a mad for it, shredding lead guitarist but prefer the other stuff - you know what I mean.

Guitars -Gibbo Les Paul, a Heritage (former Gibson factory) Les Paul,an Aria Pro 2 335 copy and ann Ovation twelve string. Latest addition is a Yamaha Silent Guitar - may be my perfect instrument! My amps are a Fender Hot Rod De Ville 2 x 12 and a Fender Blues Junior.

I have my own mikes, effects etc.

My influences/likes include Peter Green, Gary Moore, Led Zep (were you there at Knebworth - I was!), Santana, Clapton, Mayall, Free, Billy Bragg, Keb Mo, Eric Bibb, Focus, Thin Lizzy (old line up).

Most recent gigs - Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Gary Moore, UFO, Motorhead, Levellers, Ruby Turner, Chris Rea, Australian Pink Floyd. Not a real Metal fan - blame my Brother-in-law for dragging me to those ones!

I have always wanted to play blues harmonica - just started lessons with one of the UK's finest!

I would also like to get into writing my own songs. And recording.
