Triffid Productions is a non-profit organisation, which exists to provide fund-raising entertainment events for charities, both local and national. The main focus has, traditionally, been on the production of stage shows and Triffid has been in the orefront of bringing new shows to the amateur stage, notably "Evita!" and "Return To The Forbidden Planet". Triffid Productions has raised over £100,000.00 for charities, including around £63,000.00 for the National Meningitis Trust, and around £20,000.00 for special needs schools in Ealing and Eastcote. Note that Triffid Productions shows are generally unded initially by the company, who then donate surplus funds to the nominated charity after production expenses have been deducted.

The band has evolved through a bunch of people who have performed in and/or played for Triffid Productions shows over recent years and now provides an additional capability for fund-raising. The difference is that, as well as playing for free for nominated charities, the band will do fee-paying private gigs both to pay the expenses of the band members and to contribute toward the funding of other charitable activities. Most recently, the band has raised money for Grangewood
School and for Ealing Hospital Neo-Natal Unit.
