Session/Pro bass guitarist and drummer currently playing round Kent and the UK. I have just compleated a B.A Hons 2.1 Degree in Popular Music, also 10 years playing experience and open to most genres, although i favour Funk, Soul, and anything with a groove.


Bass Guitar

I play both fretted and fretless, can read chord charts fine (not so quick on the dots) and I'm comfortable solo-ing over most chord sequences and styles.
I have great experience in Jazz, Latin, Swing and Big Band situtations, Theatre Musicals and general Rock, Funk and Soul.
Equipment is all top quailty and powerful enough for any gig (within reason).


Drums

I have 10 years experience playing kit. Im a very versatile player and I can sight-read drum charts to a high standard. My kit playing has much the same repertoire as when i play bass, I'v played most genres, Jazz, Swing and Musicals to Rock, Funk and Soul. I play a Pearl Masters Custom with Sabian cymbals


I am also compitent at arranging bands and music as well as working as a Musical Director (MD).
The music on my website (coming soon) www.stevebassett.eu is a live recording of Steve BASSett n DaFunk, live at The Jamhouse, Birmingham. This was a band i had to create from scratch as part of my Degree. Each player was given a folder of charts for each song in the set, which i had arranged, including brass sections and a synth score. The evenings gig got me full marks and has since won the Worfield Community Trust Prize for Best Performance in a Music Degree.


Currently I am working for a PA & Lighting Company, rigging venues for shows or gigs. I have a wide knowledge of PA and lighting sytems and I'm used to running shows from behind the sound desk as well as onstage.


Im experienced in band situations, can pick up music and songs quickly, a team player, have my own relyable transport and im comfortable onstage.


Im avalibe for stand in gigs around Kent, or the UK depending on fees, but I cannot currently commit to a band, though please check back every so often as this may change!
