SjW is a British rock group formed in Berkshire in 2005, who's music incorporates elements of traditional, classic and progressive rock. The bands sound is firmly entrenched in the traditions of stadium rock acts and super groups such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and Queen with a tip of the hat to the great power trio's Rush, Cream, The Police, Kings X & Hendrix.

SjW came to be in Bracknell, Berkshire when Simon White (bass/vocals ) scored his debut album ‘talk on corners’ after returning from a year and half tour of the Middle East. The album was then recorded at no machine studio’s in Wokingham (Berkshire) with musicians Ben Mathews (two spot gobi) on drums and Jamie Hunt (Biomechanical ) on guitar.

Both Ben and Jamie then moved on, continuing hectic touring and recording schedules with their respective bands, leaving Simon to build around the completed album. Mitch Gasser was then recommended through a mutual friend and the band line up was complete.
The band gigged constantly throughout 2006/07 with various session drummers and Jamie Hunt augmenting the line up when available. The bands unusual but memorable name is commonly thought to be an abbreviation of bassist/ vocalist Simon White’s name.

SjW play music from a time when rock was rock and the super group was king, combining classic rock style with a fresh and up to date sound, often referencing from where it came without ever taking a backwards step.
