Tilney Sky Currently Seeking Bass Player!!!
Remember how rock used to be – wild, exciting and oozing sex appeal? Well, there’s news for serious rock fans who thought the good stuff had been lost forever. From now on you don’t have to wallow in a sea of nostalgia, old vinyl albums and the occasional comeback gig of rock monsters like Led Zeppelin. Thanks to Britain’s most compelling new band, Tilney Sky, real rock is back!
Although heavily influenced by artists like Led Zep, The Stones and Hendrix, Tilney Sky are not simply clones of old bones. In turning the clock back to that golden era they have evolved their own, more contemporary style of classic rock - no frills, no gimmicks, just standout songs and mesmerising sounds - whilst at the same time feeding the cravings of those diehard fans’ for soaring guitars riffs, pounding drums, thumping bass lines and raw, uninhibited vocals.
And, on the subject of vocals, if you’re hungry for a new Mick Jagger or Robert Plant, look no further than Tilney Sky’s charismatic front man, Ryan Karter, whose compelling stage presence and stunning voice, backed up by brother Ben’s brilliant guitar work, is already captivating fans inside and outside the UK. So much so that as well as being hand-picked and championed by Radio One for the Annie Mac Show, the band have received extensive airplay on staions across America including New York and Los Angeles, and the hugely popular national station XM Satellite (6 million listeners at any one time).
Leading producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Lostprophets), picked up on the band and loved their music so much he invited them down to his plush studios in Cardiff to record and put his own stamp on the music. The results are simply outstanding.
But, outstanding as their recordings are, it is in their live gigs where Tilney Sky really come alive. Their unmissable shows have made them local legends in SW London and the surrounding territories where fans have to be shoe-horned into tightly-packed houses every time they take the stage. The band, which besides Ryan and Ben, features two other consummate musicians in Kevin Singfield on bass and Phil James on drums, has now been over five long years in the making. Having begun life in Ben’s back bedroom where they first recorded the songs – and still do - they are gradually heading towards world domination as real rock music makes its well deserved comeback...
