Basschat is the UK's largest web forum for bass guitarists and double bass players. It was started in May 2007 and by May 2008 had acquired over three thousand members. The forum is still friendly despite its size and offers a free classifieds and a wide variety of forums catering for many aspects of bass playing. There are a number of industry members, professional musicians, companies and suppliers who all offer Basschat members free advice and special discounts on deals. The site also caters for a broad cross section of players, from seasoned semi professionals to teenage newbies.
